Promoting Youth Communities

Description

A group of 40 adolescents and youth from different schools meet once or twice a week, allowing them to exercise their leadership, increase their participation in the community, and organize and implement actions for the benefit of other young people. The group coming together, and the generation of friendship within it is a practical example of conflict and violence prevention, community cohesion, a sense of belonging, and collaborative participation.

Preparation of a contextualized primer on Sexual and Reproductive Rights (SRR) based on the reflections of 92 participating youths on the way they exercise their SRR.
Carrying out 3 community events on the recognition of gender equality with the participation of 319 youths.
44 youth participants in the youth promoters held community tequios.

40 adolescents per generation trained in human rights, gender equality, violence prevention and participatory leadership.
The project has a transversal approach to human rights, gender perspective, intergenerationality and interculturality, emphasizing the construction of a culture of peace, gender equality and participation by promoting safe spaces for the exercise of rights.
The youth participate in community projects and tequios to redefine spaces of trust, characterize existing collaboration processes and recognize leadership, take advantage of the sensitivity to the transformation of each participant and the values of the context to achieve rapprochement and sharing between participants and their community.
